*Registration closes january 19

If you find yourself dreading grocery shopping, seemingly running out of time to make dinner, wanting some new ideas/kitchen tricks, or struggling with how to put healthy food on the table with your budget - this workshop is for you!

Join us for a fun evening of learning and meal prep as Andrea walks us through fundamental healthy eating topics like nutritional information and informed grocery shopping tips! Then we'll put some of that knowledge into practice and do an instructor led meal prep class and hands on demonstration. You'll walk away from this workshop with not only some new ideas and information, but also with 2-3 ready made freezer meals!

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER: Andrea Gieselman is currently Head Kinesiologist with Intuitive Rehabilitation Services. Andrea has been a Practicing Member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists since 2008 and a Certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) since 2006. She received her Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a specialization in Exercise Science and minor in Psychology from UBC in 2004. Prior to joining the team at Intuitive, Andrea was Manager of Health & Fitness at the Chilliwack Family YMCA from 2006-2012. Andrea has vast experience working with people of all ages and all abilities, from teens and youth to older adults, general population and those with special considerations for exercise. Throughout her career in the field, Andrea has taken countless courses and workshops to help her bring knowledge to her clients in more tangible ways on topics such as: cardiovascular rehabilitation & exercise, pregnancy, nutrition, sport specific, functional movement, posture and rehabilitation. More recently, Andrea has been providing mentorship for therapists and Fitness Instructors to deepen their level of knowledge on the body so that they can bring the best information and program designs to the people they work with.

The design, capacity and resiliency of the human body fascinate Andrea; she is passionate about helping people understand in practical and functional ways how their body works whether through rehabilitation or goals to improve health and fitness. As a wife and mom of two young girls, she is also aware of the challenges and barriers that can exist to making healthy lifestyle changes, especially when juggling family and work schedules. Working collaboratively with people to identify these barriers and create manageable solutions that can be easily incorporated into life is of high importance to her.

For her own sanity, Andrea enjoys mountain biking and taking advantage of the great outdoors in the Fraser Valley with her family. She continues to volunteer at the Chilliwack Family YMCA as a Fitness Instructor in addition to training, mentoring and certifying new Fitness Instructors for the YMCA.
